Student Entry Points for Stranaska Academy Prep

The Academy Prep program has mentorship training tracks for all science-inclined students in high school:

• Underclassmen - The mentorship training track for high school freshmen and sophomores is appropriate for those students that have not yet taken chemistry or advanced mathematics courses. Our introductory chemistry focus helps prepare the student for the chemistry and physics courses that are part of the upperclass high school curriculum. Students are introduced to analytical metrology - the measurement science that is integral to analytical instrumentation and chemical analysis. This mentorship training track demonstrates "real world" relevance of chemistry that can spark the interest to continue on with advanced chemistry studies in school.

• Upperclassmen - The mentorship training track for high school juniors and seniors is intended for those students that have already taken chemistry and advanced mathematics courses. This track has a major focus on analytical metrology and instrumentation, and how it augments the chemistry courses that are part of the high school curriculum. This mentorship training track can augment high school capstone projects and help prepare the student for college-level chemistry courses and early undergraduate research programs.

The Academy Prep program has mentorship training tracks for all science-inclined students in college:

• Community College - This mentorship training track is appropriate for students on a two-year associate science degree path that requires one or more chemistry courses. Our chemistry focus includes an introduction to analytical metrology which enhances readiness for career-bound students and their entry into the scientific workforce, or for college-bound students and their transfer to a four-year institution. This mentorship training track also demonstrates "real world" relevance of chemistry for the student's intended path.

• Four-Year College or University - This mentorship training track is appropriate for students on a four-year bachelor's degree path that includes a chemistry major or minor. Our chemistry focus includes an introduction to analytical metrology and instrumentation which enhances the student's readiness for their entry into the scientific workforce, or for their acceptance into a graduate school. This mentorship training track can also facilitate the student's acceptance into a competitive undergraduate research program or a prestigious professor's research group.
